Life Updates – Our Place

A quick post to update you guys on what’s going on with my life this summer – Johnny and I purchased our first home back in early summer!!! For the longest time, it’s been a dream for the both of us to own our own home in the city. We had been looking at open houses for a few months and when we laid our eyes on this property, we knew this was the one. In a city like Vancouver, I consider this as a huge accomplishment in adulting! Right after we got our keys to our townhouse, we started looking at furniture, from Ikea, Crate and Barrel and West Elm. We’ve got 3 rooms, 1 living room and 1 media room, to furnish. Man, furniture takes forever to deliver. We are just getting deliveries from the orders we placed two months ago. Though right now it still looks bare, I can’t wait to see our space finished.

Our sofa had been the most difficult decision so far; the dining table took us a long time to decide too. Neither of us had bought a sofa on our own before so this was a brand new experience. We looked at so many options from so many stores – the sofas are either too long, too short, too bulky or the wrong colors. Such struggles, but we finally placed an order for sofa last week. We decided on this white sofa from Article. Yup, it’s white. I know it will get dirty easily or stain quickly. We will just have to take care of those when they happen. BUT, it’s SO BEAUTIFUL and I know it’ll give me butterflies every time I go home. Stay tuned, I will update you guys as all the pieces fall together, hehe.
