Lululemon Leggings vs Everlane Leggings

GUYS, HAVE YOU HEARD!? Everlane came out with their own leggings! I got on that train instantly when I heard the news. My motherhood closet right now consists nothing but tops that go with leggings. For those of you that insist leggings are not pants, thank you, next. We can’t be friends!

Lulu’s align leggings saved me during my pregnancy. I now own four pairs of the align leggings from size 2 to 6. I just kept buying the next size up as my bump grew. Because I wore these leggings so much that I thought it’d be helpful to do a comparison for you guys.

Which Leggings Am I Comparing?

  • LULULEMON ALIGN 25″ PANT – black and size 6. Lulu came out with Align II which is the updated version of what I have. They no longer have the first version on the website so the link here is to version II. I presume version I and version II are not that different.

EVERLANE THE PERFORM LEGGINGS

These USD$68 leggings have four colors, black, lichen (army green), ink grey and brandy rose, two lengths and seven sizes. The leggings hug my shape well and they are quite compressive. It’s made for low and moderate activities so I can wear these for errands as well as workouts. I got mine in ankle-length at 25″ inseam, which sits about 1-2 inches above my ankle. I am 5’2″ for reference.

LULULEMON ALIGN 25″ LEGGINGS

I was introduced to these leggings when I was pregnant with Livvy. The sales at the store said lots of mama-to-be choose the Align because the fabric is super soft and stretchy enough for the growing belly, but not too loose to feel the belly hanging. I wore these from the first trimester to the third trimester, eventually sized up two sizes at the end of the pregnancy. The 25″ length works great for me. I’ve got these in black and grey to change things up.

THE DIFFERENCES (AND THE SIMILARITIES) BETWEEN THESE TWO LEGGINGS

The main difference between these two leggings is the fabric.

  • Everlane’s Perform leggings are tighter. It offers more support to hold me in in all the right places. I feel these are more suitable for working out than Lulu’s align. But of course they are great for brunches as well.
  • Lulu’s Align fabric is softer. It gives me great comfort and ease of movement. The downside of comfort is that sometimes it’s not tight enough to shape my bumbum.
  • Everlane’s leggings are made with recycled materials whereas Align’s are not.
  • Both of these are not see-through.
  • Both of them don’t roll down at my abdomen.
  • Both of them are high waist and go over my belly button.
  • Everlane’s has a darker black than Lulu’s. Lulu’s has a subtle shiny sheen to it.
  • Align’s waistband is more comfortable than Everlane’s. Everlane’s waistband is tighter and Align’s waistband is stretchier, which makes it great pregnancy leggings.
  • Everlane’s price point is much better than Align. We are looking at USD $68 vs USD $98.

WHICH ONE SHOULD YOU GET? I’d say if you want a pair of leggings purely for every day, brunches, errands and preggos, go for the Align. If you want leggings that you can work out in as well as the every day stuff, go for Everlane’s Perform Leggings.

I love both of these leggings equally as they serve different purposes in my closet. I reach for the Align if I feel bloated that day and need that extra stretch. The Perform leggings are there for when I need a quick work out and want to hold everything in places. Are you a leggings person? Which one would you get?

Other than the leggings, I am wearing Anine Bing sweatshirt, Everlane Tread sneakers, Gorjana jewelry and The Daily Edited phone case (stone wrap iPhone case, font: shadow text, text colour: mocha, shadow colour: white)
